aquaCorps(e) was really nice, even "cool" and so very "nineties", and soooo
much better than what I've seen produced by M2 since then. Was attempting
- and quite successfully so - to be a scuba "life-style" mag. And us
Euros fell over laughing at all the heat he took for publishing the pics
showing 'batgirl's' nipples or for the "tecdivers in bondage" issue. John
Nitrox just reminded me of that dominatrix issue, as he was wearing the
t-shirt when he visited us. Maybe M2 should have moved to Euroland, he
might have done well there. I didn't go over well with the Merkins.
Dive mags I would recommend? None. OK, the one's that publish my pics of
course (sure that at least Andy agrees). I really only pick up the (mostly
free) local ones anymore. And I still sub Asian Diver.
Info on "local" (in a broader sense) dive sites is what mostly interests me
when reading dive mags. And a well written ichty and travel section. And
pieces like Strike's. And I REALLY miss the Last Gasp. Equipment, training,
dive practices, etc., gotta admit that they are usually good for laughs,
but most of the time for nothing else. Exceptions exist, but not many.
And Strike is not reckless enough to start his own mag. I'm afraid. Or
rather, I hope. OK, go ahead mate, but use somebody else's money.
