I prefer a larger reel too, but have found that if I'm using a spool and it
gets away from my hand, I can simply "ok" on the line and let the spool
drop. Once things settle down I can pull the spool back up and rewind simply
enough. Another reason why I carry a spare bag and spool though. ;-)
