[Cross-posted to various public lists on raven.utc.edu]

As part of the major renovation to the building that houses computing
services and the network core (everyone else in the building has
vacated, but we can't move), relocation of a major electrical panel
is scheduled from 7:00AM-2:00PM Sunday (if you believe contractor's
estimates).

Consequently, we are shutting down some servers at 5:00 PM Saturday,
among them the primary campus mail server, so I will be unreachable
by e-mail during that time.

Raven is currently co-located in our other facility and will remain
up the entire time, but following the "real" power shutdown on
Sunday the network core/Internet connections will switchover to UPS
batteries. They only have a 90 minute (approximate) runtime, so in
all likelihood Raven and it's lists will be unreachable from the
Internet when the UPS batteries drain.

We hope to be back to normal by early Sunday afternoon. A skeleton crew
and myself will be in to bring things back up Sunday to be sure
there are no problems, but you never know.

Hopefully this won't be too much of an inconvenience, being early on
Sunday (even earlier for the west coast) but thought a notice might
be prudent as you could also receive DNS errors for utc.edu when the
border router dies. Don't panic - we're still here :-)
