Quite so.

Folks,

Whilst I was one of the instigators of (the original) of this thread I
bowed out very quickly.

When I was misquoted (by my standards) I shut the **** up.

Actually I think that "shutting the **** up is an admirable trait,
something to be wished on some others.

Why? I have determined, probably much like Strike although he seems to
occasionally allow himself be "persuaded", that there is simply no
point in the interminable "I said, you said" posts of this sort of diatribe.

I note the semantics of "recruit", "recruitment", whatever. SO WHAT?
What has it to do with Scuba? How much bandwidth has been wasted in
this pointless exercise?

More importantly, how many lurkers has it managed to turn away?
Don't we need fresh blood (ABSOLUTELY no pun intended)?

I'll agree that a short statement of opinion is not a bad thing but
the semantics pouring out of this list, almost none SCUBA related, do
the list no favours at all.

Hello? Anyone want to listen?

Hmmm, is this kind of, perhaps, maybe what I sort of said on -L just
before that fracture?

Christian

PS For the longer term (ex S-L) members, I am actually one of those
who can properly pronounce both Michael's given and surname. :-)
