We just returned from Indonesia, including a few days layover in Bali each way. The
bad news is that a huge building has gone up next to the Tanjung Sari in Sanur. I
think (but I could be wrong) that it's on land owned by the same family.

In any event, the new building degrades the ambiance and charm that was a large
part of what made the Tanjung Sari a great place for things like honeymoon's or high-
end dirty weekends. So I feel compelled to retract my earlier recommendation.

We splurged on our lay-overs by staying at the Oberoi, in Legian (really Semanyak)
just north of Kuta. It is still very very nice, though pricey. If I were looking for a place to
have a honeymoon in Bali, the Oberoi would the place.

Another alternative would be the Mimpi Resort at Menjangan Island (it's actually on
the mainland). Upscale, quiet, and the cottages (but not cheapest rooms) each have
private hot springs baths. Plus you could get in a few dives at Menjangan.
