Yes! If you bothered to read the post in its entirety rather than
selectively editing to suit your own purposes, you will see that I was
referring to the potential problems of not removing a divers weight belt and
possible loss of contact between rescuer and victim. It was intended to be
read by John who, as a person who's actually done the training, might have
been in a better position to appreciate what it was that I was saying.
Your point, however, is well made and I did forget that it might have been
misinterpreted by those with little real-life experience of diving rescues
in a variety of conditions!!! I'll be happy to elaborate further should
anyone else - other than you - have any follow up questions or comments
regarding what I have said.
