Have I ever promoted DIR? I have in the past promoted a type of gear that I
like, but that is only part of DIR, as most people here know. 

And if we talk about the gear style, Carl was 'promoting'  that before I
even came to the list.

I have never, to my knowledge, ever claimed anywhere that I was diving DIR
or dir or even d.i.r. And Strike knows a lot more about that than I do,
anyway.
