It's good you added the 'team' thing. Yesterday, in a unit training we did
a search pattern in a trio with connecting lines and everything. I did
prefer the buddy system at that moment :-) especially because I was
assigned to a new team. A threesome can be quite hazardous if something
goes wrong. In the recreational system we are usually taught how to manage
an unexpected situation in a buddy team.

I think that the main issue here is diving as a team - the number is less
important.
