Have you wondered about the wall in front of the UC?
The Writing on the Wall Project's vision is to engage communities
across the nation in a shared experience that inspires individuals to
get
involved and organizations to collaborate and take action to confront
the issues of awareness, oppression and discrimination.
The Wall is a physical representation of our oppression of others
throughout human history; it symbolizes the barrier that prevents us as
individuals, races, genders, and cultures from connecting in our shared
humanity.
Each brick is a painted, drawn, or written representation of moment
in an individual's experience or in our collective history of an act of
discrimination, an outrage, a crime, or an act of inhumanity.
The Wall is located in front of the University Center on Vine Street.
The wall will be torn down in a ceremony on Friday, April 15, 2005
at 4:30 p.m. This symbolizes "Breaking down Barriers," These
racial/sexual/religious barriers oftentimes hinder a community from
truly embracing diversity. You are invited to come join us as we strive
to eliminate these barriers by demolishing the hate on the wall.

To check the updated Scrappy messages, just go to
http://utconline.utc.edu/
Then you can either log in or click Preview on the left. Access to
the Scrappy messages on UTC On Line does not require you to log in, but
you can if that's what you're accustomed to doing. You also can get to
Scrappy announcements from the toolbox on the left.
Once there, you will find announcements for Academics, Campus News,
Student Organizations Events and Regularly Scheduled Meetings, Fine
Arts Events, Job and Volunteer Opportunities, and Sports Events.
To better communicate important information regarding deadlines,
registration, class schedules, etc., to students, we have moved the
announcements of campus and student events to UTC OnLine, which is
supported by BlackBoard on our campus. Only messages of primary
academic or registration significance or broad importance to the
student body will be distributed regularly on the Scrappy email list.
So, if you've got friends who say they never read these emails, let
them know that they should start checking out the ones marked
"IMPORTANT."
