Spanish Film Series continues. Come out October 18th at 8pm (BROCK HALL
201) to see a film by Antonio
Hernández: "En la ciudad sin límites / The City of No Limits".
2 hours and 5 minutes in length/Color
Spanish with English subtitles
Winner of 2 Goya Awards
Synopsis: In this gripping thriller, an elderly Spanish man in a Paris
hospital (Fernando Fernán Gómez) awaits surgery for a brain tumor,
which, his family believes, has made him mad. Only the old man’s
youngest son Victor (Leonardo Sbaraglia) believes his ramblings about a
mysterious man named “Rancel,” whom he claims is in danger.
Torn between two women, and uninterested in the family business,
Victor is at odds with his siblings. To make matters worse, the closer
Victor gets to solving his father’s mysteries, the more his
cold-hearted mother (Geraldine Chaplin) throws him off course with
potentially dangerous lies. With brilliant performances and
storytelling, THE CITY OF NO LIMITS captivates from beginning to end.
