Welcome Student Veterans and Vet Dependents:

My name is Joe Wiram (Army Retired), Coordinator of Veteran Student Services and Programs, I am proud to welcome back our returning and new student Veterans to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and greatly appreciate your time in service to our nation. You have many choices after and during your military service, and we are pleased that you have chosen to make UTC a part of your life. We know that balancing college life with your many military, career, family and personal responsibilities can be extremely challenging. UTC would like to assist you to achieve your personal goals and to get the most out of your college experience. Through the efforts of the Dean of Students, Veterans Services and the Student Veterans Organization (SVO) we have planned many services and programs this Fall semester. 

Remember the Veteran Service Lounge is located in the first floor of the UC in the game room. The service lounge is a dedicated space for student Veterans and Vet Dependents using the GI Bill. The lounge will always have free coffee, snacks and refreshments.  The lounge is Comfortable and inviting, that also has computers, refrigerators and a microwave for your use.  The lounge will always open when the UC is open. Your MOCS Card will allow you access by swiping it through the electronic key pad. If you have not received your Student Veteran discount sticker or it has worn off because you took advantage of all the great campus discounts, come by my office to get a sticker affixed to your MOCS card.

My office is UC 145 located right next to the Service Lounge. (I am no longer on the 3rd floor).  My office hours is M-Th 10a-4p. I will always return my e-mails and phone messages and If I am not in my office when you need me, leave a note on the message board on my door and I will respond.  I have Veteran student workers that should be in the service lounge who have the resources to assist you any way they can.
