STUDENT ALUMNI COUNCIL PARTNERS WITH NEIGHBORHOOD

the M.L. King Neighborhood Association to help citizens living right in
our own area. The M.L.King Neighborhood Association is hoping to bring
joy to local citizens on fixed income, those who may be disabled and
many senior citizens. Since UTC is a vital part of this neighborhood
SAC believes it is important to support the activities of the area.
SAC is asking for your help in preparing 32 Thanksgiving baskets.
Here is what we need by Friday, November 19
At least 32 cans of candied yams
At least 32 cans of green-beans or peas
At least 32 cans of cranberry sauce

You may bring your donations to the alumni house located in The Patten
House, 801 Oak Street between 8 am and 5 pm. You may call 425-4785 for

open to the public. There are two more classes planned for January 16

STUDENT ALUMNI COUNCIL ANGEL TREE
The UTC Student Alumni Council in conjunction with the Tennessee
Department of Children's Services are sponsoring an Angel Tree for some
very special children this holiday season. A table in the University
Center will host cards with a hundred names of boys and girls along
with their holiday wishes. These tables will be set up in the
University Center on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the month of
November from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 18th from
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., and Monday, November 22nd from 11:00 a.m. -
1:00 p.m.
If you would like to bring joy to a child in the Hamilton County
area this year, please drop by the table, pick up an Angel Tree card,
and help make their holiday season special.
The deadline to drop off Angel Tree gifts to the Alumni Office
(Patten House - 2nd Floor) is Wednesday, December 1st. Items on the
wish list should cost no more than $15 per child. When you pick a
name, it is then your responsibility to buy a gift for that child.
However, there is no limit to the number of names you can choose. Each
gift must be gift wrapped with the child's name and code on it. If
there are multiple gifts for a child, all the gifts must be attached or
placed together in a bag.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact
the Alumni Office at 425-4785 or a Student Alumni council
representative.
