Make plans now to enjoy a Super Homecoming 2009:

On Monday, September 21, a pep rally will rock the heart of campus at
11:50 a.m. in Heritage Plaza. Coach Russ Huesman and his players will
be there, along with the UTC Cheerleaders, the Sugar Mocs, the Marching
Band--come join the fun!

That evening, a new homecoming tradition begins. Two beloved
professors, Dr. Ziad Keilany, head of the UTC Department of Economics
and Karen Henderson, Theatre and Speech, will offer a "Last Lecture."
Come to the UTC University Center Auditorium at 8 p.m. to hear life
lessons from these faculty members, as if it was the last lecture they
could ever deliver. The idea is borrowed from the last lecture series
at Carnegie Mellon University, where Randy Pausch delivered his famous
lecture.

On Tuesday, September 22, the ACE Lip Sync Competition will be held at 8
p.m. in the Student Park. Watch as student groups perform and compete
to "sing" and dance their way to a win.

Student Homecoming Field Games will be held Wednesday, September 23,
5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Chamberlain Field and Vine Street. Enjoy the annual
homecoming field games including the annual Bed Cart Race, Trout
Jousting, Dizzy Bats and the Pie Eating Contest (just to name a few).

On Thursday, September 24, the UTC Step Show begins at 8 p.m. in the
McKenzie Arena. Don't miss this annual tradition as student groups
stomp and step their way to rousing beats at one of Chattanooga's
greatest homecoming events.

Friday, September 25 begins with the annual Homecoming Golf Cart Parade
at 11:15 a.m., winding through the streets of campus. Grab the lawn
chairs and check out the decorated floats.

Two choices are offered for Friday night--it will be UTC Alumni Night at
Nightfall at Miller Plaza with The Gibson Brothers; opening act begins
at 7 p.m. "The Miser" by Moliere will be presented by the UTC Department
of Theatre and Speech at 7:30 p.m., Dorothy Ward Theatre, UTC Fine Arts
Center. For ticket information call 425-4269.

On Saturday, September 26, it's time to wear blue and gold and join
friends at tailgating--the spot is Scrappy's Nest in First Tennessee
Pavilion beginning at 3 p.m. Good music, entertainment, the Kids Zone,
concessions, and much more will build excitement for the football game.
As the UTC Train leaves the pavilion, the UTC Marching Band, Elite Dance
Team, UTC Cheerleaders and Sugar Mocs will lead the crowd into Finley
Stadium. Kickoff at 6 p.m. pits the Mocs against the Wofford Terriers.

McKenzie Arena will be home base of race day for the Chattanooga
Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Sunday, September 27. For
