Jon
I would vote to start off with 6.5 simply because we use the Oracle
Transparent Gateway which is certified to work with 6.5. As you know Oracle
exited the MPE platform some time ago however there are still a number of
shops using this product. PS Allegro & or SRI should elect to kill STM. STM
is a P.I.A.

Subject: Which MPE on the Emulator

There are people on many different versions of MPE (5.5, 6.0, 6.5,
7.0, &
7.5). Each version has pros and cons. There needs to be some discussion
about which version should HP make available to the emulator companies
(Allegro & SRI) initially. Should the emulator companies start with
validation under 5.5 and then work forward or should they start with a later
version? We need some thought and discussion around this. If you are
interested in the PA-RISC emulator, what version of MPE are you running on
your e3000 hardware? Why? Is it because of the need for HP-IB devices,
because you have an A or N class and it's what came on the box, or what?
