I'm not so sure. Let me speak for a moment as a former vendor myself.
While it is true that license fees can be a fixed amount per license,
in the case where tiered pricing exists, basing fees on a percentage
basis yields more income at the higher tiers.
So, let's assume for a moment that the licensing of this stuff is a
percentage. I don't know that's the case, if someone from HP wants to
confirm or deny it (assuming they can), please do so. If it is a
percentage, then this exercise is not futile. It will help identify a
price point that we can strive to achieve.
