From HP. I've never heard an exact number. It has always been "about 400
gigs". This has been a known "issue" for some time because it likely could
come into play prior to end of support in 2006. Actually, there are two
issues:
1. Be able to "mount" a drive greater than 400 gigs, even if you can only
use 400 gigs - sort of like with LDEV 1 when we could only use 4GB though we
could mount a much larger drive.
2. Be able to use the space beyond approximately 400 gigs.
The second issue is apparently difficult and HP has indicated they will not
address it. The first issue was placed on the 2003 SIB and finished 8th.
Jeff Vance reported HP's response to the SIB items on June 2. This item,
which was worded "Make sure MPE can mount any disk up to ~ 1TB" on the SIB,
is now a "staffed project" according to Jeff.
<PLUG> Come to the SIGMPE meeting at HPWorld 2003 in Atlanta to hear an
update from Jeff Vance and others from vCSY on the status of this project.
SIGMPE meets Wednesday, August 13 at 2:50 PM. </PLUG>
