I'll comment on this one.......

If SSCONFIG is made available in some form or a program that traps calls to that little EPROM chip which stores the hardware and software ID then I suspect that you could run
MPE/iX and HP-UX on the same box. Something along these lines would allow MPE/iX to run natively on HP-UX.
