As far as I know, since I built both new and refurbished e3000 systems for
HP's customer base, they are still for sale and available.
Orders for new e3000's - except for a few large HP accounts, go direct to
Client Systems via the DAR/VAR/ISV channel. They never hit HP direct, until
the system is shipped to the end user.
Which leads me to this: I am not aware of any situation where we took an
order for a system, only to be unwilling or unable to complete it, since MPE/
e3000 sales are the ONLY way we made payroll. Hmmm.
Anyway, I can guarantee one thing: the people that are left in vCSY, along
with those/us that continue to have a hand in the manufacture and promotion
of current MPE architecture (pre-emulator, for now) truly believe in the
engineering of MPE, and the philosophy and community MPE reflects.
Emulation will open up a whole new migration path for our customers who
want/need MPE environments, without being imprisoned by current PA-RISC
architecture.
Baby steps are still steps. Keep steppin'', Jeff!

Chris Gauthier
