I've really got to get going now, but will be back next week sometime.

It appears that HP is not going to give out MPE source until it is too
late. And even if they did, I am not sure that anyone would want to
tackle it without being well compensated, and it would take a fair
sized team of top techies to do it.

I guess a basic plan of attack needs to be drawn up that a "critical
mass" of techies and companies can agree on and support. Followed by
a fleshed version with a timeline and some commitments. It appears
that the 3rd party application system people are what is keeping MPE
alive now, and would be critical to moving forward. When I get back,
I could send them my proposals for review and comment, and go from
there. If you know who the key people are at any of the companies, I
would appreciate their contact info.

Bye for now,
- Pete
