The accepting of nominations will end at 5:00 pm (EST) on Friday (3/14).
At that point we will make sure that all nominees are contacted to see if
they accept.

        VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:  To vote in the election you have to be a registered
member of OpenMPE by the close of business on Wednesday (3/10), which is
5:00 pm (EST).  You can still become a registered member after that date but
you will not be able to cast a ballot in this years election.

        The actual election will take place, via web, through the OpenMPE web site.
The polls will open at 8:00 am (EST) on Monday (3/24) and will close at 5:00
pm (EST) on Wednesday (3/26).  At that point the votes will be tabulated.
The results will be announced at the Annual OpenMPE meeting on Friday
(3/28).  The "raw" data will be available for inspection, should any member
desire to review it.

        The time has come for the annual OpenMPE vote.  This year four board
seats
will be up for election.  These four board seats have been held by Ted
Ashton, Jon Backus, Birket Foster, and Mark Klein.  There are no term limits
so each of these people may or may not be running for re-election.  I will
allow each of them respond with their intentions.  What we need from the
general membership is nominations of potential candidates.  Each nomination
will be contacted directly to see if they wish to accept.  Those that accept
will be placed on a ballot, which will be available for members to vote on
prior to the Annual Conference to be held on Friday, March 28th, at 1:00 pm
(EST) in parallel with the East Coast Solution Symposium (Valley Forge, PA).
Results of the vote will be made known at the conference.
