Prior to moving out of the San Rafael office in January, I could've
shown you a FreeBSD box on an x486 (yes, that's not a typo) that was
up for well over a year. That box was the primary DNS and sendmail
servers for the company.

Yes, the HPe3000 can stay up a long time. My point is that other
platforms can as well and that no longer gives the 3000 its sole
advantage.

And what you're saying is the that what we saw and heard last week
was not progress towards opening up MPE? Or are you talking about
Open Source MPE? That is an entirely different subject.
