One the one hand it seems reasonable for HP to restrict its use to HP hardwre.
This might just work well for all concerned.

On the other hand, if HP does not feel MPE has much value - why should they
care? If MPE would fly on any hardware HP would have met a Corporate goal of
"making a contribution" and would be recognized for it - great PR.
