It's worth noting that it is VERY heavy on the "playground" part of the
reply below. In fact there are a number of long time MPEr's that have tuned
out the 3000-L all together. I must admit, I don't follow it nearly as
close as I once did, hence this whole thread. When I have an MPE question I
post it here, which is perfectly acceptable and well within the scope of
this list.

Thanx,
        Jon

It's a list like this one, hosted in the same place, and has historically
been
the one you subscribe to for general help and advice on all matters to do
with
using HP3000s, the MPE/iX operating system (and prior to that, the MPE/V
operating system) that runs on it, and all the software, both FOS and 3rd
party, utilities and applications, that run on it.

Plus anything you might link it to, like PCs, networks, and other platforms,
both HP and non-HP.

Also a playground for the regulars, with astronomy, biology, creationism,
discussions, enchiladas, fictions, gods, histories, internet links, jokes,
kernels, languages, memories, nature, opinions, politics, queries,
rebuttals,
songs, television, unixen, volokh sightings, wirtfare, xerox printers, you
(if
you join!), zips, zoning, zoology.

And more. Pretty much the whole of the alphabet, really.....

Here's the URL for where you subscribe....

To join/leave the list, search archives, change list settings,
 etc., please visit http://raven.utc.edu/archives/hp3000-l.html

Also available as comp.sys.hp.mpe on Usenet (gated to and from HP3000-L),
but
you can't post from there and have it go to HP3000-L subscribers unless you
have already subscribed yourself at the above URL.
