I would like to apologize to the members of OpenMPE for not responding
to John's challenge. At the time that the challenge was issued, I was
embarked upon a trip to my family home in Kansas to attend my Mother's
eightieth birthday party.

Unfortunately, I had no access to my office email during my stay in
Kansas, so I could not follow nor respond to the lively debate that
John's challenge produced.

On the morning that I was to return to Seattle, my Mother passed away.
Of course this meant that I had to extend my stay to attend her funeral
and to handle necessary details of the estate.

Please accept my apologies in this matter, and my assurances that under
any normal circumstances my duties to OpenMPE will be discharged to the
best of my abilities.

Sincerely yours,
Alan Tibbetts
