The recent question about the minutes and the membership drive post made me
think a bit about the name OpenMPE.

What exactly is the Open supposed to stand for?

Open sourced? No, the board has made it clear they are not interested in
this approach.

Open community? Not from what I have seen. The meeting minutes are pretty
much devoid of information and long periods go by without even that limited
communication. Also the board seems determined to do everything it can
behind closed doors. For example, from the August 13 Minutes:

"In response to some concerns expressed, the members of the board
individually reaffirmed their understanding on the confidentiality of
information discussed at meetings."

As far as I can tell it could be more correctly named ClosedMPE.

This is not meant as an attack on OpenMPE. But I am honestly confused by
what part of this process and the goals so far stated that could be
considered open.

Comments are my own, not my empolyer's... etc.
