Back on 23 July on this list and 3000-L Paul Edwards noted:
===========================================================

At HPWorld this year, the MPE/HP3000 Management and Technical
Roundtables have been merged into the Customer Needs Panel. The
focus of this Panel is to provide information to HP concerning the
needs of the HP3000 customers regarding MPE for the next few years
regardless of whether they are migrating soon or staying on the
platform for an undetermined amount of time. Also, we will be
discussing the SIB items submitted this year and the future of the
SIB process.

.... From HP we expect to have Jeff Vance, Dave Wilde, Ross
McDonald, Mike Paivinen, Mark Bixby, Alvina Nishimoto, Jim Hawkins,
and any other vCSY people at the conference. From the user
community, I have selected Terry Simpkins, Donna Garverick, Jon
Backus, Chuck Ciesinski, and Chris Gauthier ....

The session number for the Panel is 2387 and is scheduled for
4:50pm-6:00pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2003.  ....

..... If you are unable to attend the conference or the Panel, you
can presubmit questions to the Interex supplied site
http://www.interex.org/c/bulletinboard.html or to me at my email
address listed below between now and August 8, 2003. .....

I will not be attending HPW this year, but as usual wanted to
get in my $0.50 worth.  So I started 3 new threads at above URL;
on subjects I thought were important: One with my OpenMPE BOD
hat on; one wearing my SIGImage/SQL Chair hat; and one as
just me. donna started another important thread; Tony Potter
started yet another. A total of 4 replies to all threads so far.

In my mind, if I *was* going to be at HPW-AT, the HP e3000
Customer Needs panel would probably be at the top of my list
of "must make" sessions, along with SIGImage/SQL... and I'm
thinking there has GOT to be some more opinions and issues out
there from both attendees and non-attendees; that could be
productively posted on the bulletin board prior to the session.
For the most part I stopped believing in the utility of
"surprising" HP with questions on the spot some years ago: Much
better to post questions ahead of time and at least give HP a
chance to formulate an answer prior to the session...

Eight days and counting until this session kicks off. Have at it.
