OpenMPE's call for Candidates for the Board ends tomorrow. Voting
commences on 26 February and ends 5PM PST on 12 March 2010.
OpenMPE's web page has been updated with the list of prospective
candidates and a short biography of each at:
http://www.openmpe.org/OpenMPEBoardCandidates.htm
There are four candidates running for five open positions. Unless
someone else steps up to the plate and declares their name in the
running, that will leave a vacancy on the Board.
All I need is a short biography and a photo for all to see. (Well you
also have to join OpenMPE, but that's another issue.)
What will happen should there continue to be a vacancy on OpenMPE's
board?
Perhaps ...
The Board may have to get medieval on somebody and draft someone with an
appointment to the Board! It happened to me in 2007. It may happen to
you! Cower and fear all ye who bluster about OpenMPE's lack of
communication and do nothing themselves! Some lucky soul may be
strapped to loudspeakers with their ears unstopped as if they were in
Clockwork Orange and forced to listen to our Board Meetings!
Or the board may change OpenMPE's by-laws.
