Face facts. The HP -e3000 is probably the most reliable system ever built
by any company in the world. I have systems that have not been shut down
for 5+years except for routine patch/OS upgrades. I have one system an
HP3000 series 3 in my home office that has not had a system failure in over
11 years. Even with a power outage and a pause for the UPS to kick in the
system 3 didn't miss a beat. Tell me any other system (worldwide) that has
that kind of track record. Lets also not forget that software that I wrote
on the 3 still executes flawlessly (with no code changes) on my 987/420.
Again TELL ME ANY OTHER SYSTEM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD THAT CAN DO THAT. And
HP wants to kill it????
I'd much rather keep this on a professional level however people like
yourself certainly deserve a few four letter words. You belong in the same
loony bin with the folks that decided to kill the box in the first place.
"EMOTIONAL???? You bet your ass"

Prior to moving out of the San Rafael office in January, I could've
shown you a FreeBSD box on an x486 (yes, that's not a typo) that was
up for well over a year. That box was the primary DNS and sendmail
servers for the company.
Yes, the HPe3000 can stay up a long time. My point is that other
platforms can as well and that no longer gives the 3000 its sole
advantage.

And what you're saying is the that what we saw and heard last week
was not progress towards opening up MPE? Or are you talking about
Open Source MPE? That is an entirely different subject.
