As an add-on to below, if a ballot is cast with a valid member
name and invalid membership number we contact the person, via the email
address on file to inform them. If a ballot is cast with an invalid
member name and a valid membership number we contact the person with
that number, via the email address on file to inform them. If the name
is not on file and the number is invalid we don't notify anybody. In
all three cases the ballot is not counted.

Thanx,
        Jon

Ed,

The online system accepted the ballot once you entered a name
and membership number but when the ballot was validated it would fail
and not be counted (assuming 1234 is not your real number and a lucky
guess). You should have already received (or shortly will receive) an
email indicated that an invalid ballot was cast in your name and was not
counted.

Thanx,
        Jon

I was also confused, but then clicked on annual vote anyway and saw what
I needed to do. I also did not remember my membership number and tried
submitting with it left blank. When this did not work, I plugged in 1234
(bogus) as my membership number and it "took".

I'm sort of in the same boat as Mark.
I'm sure I'm a member, but can't find a record of my number.
A nice little "Forgot your membership number?" email button would be
nice...

Regards

Neil

I can see how some people may be having trouble voting.

I get a different web site when I connect to the advertised,
http://www.openmpe.org/ verses the seemingly correct
http://openmpe.org/. The http://openmpe.org/ site actually has a link
on it that says "Annual Vote"

I know I am a member. But for the life of me, if I every received a
member number I must of lost it. I save every email I receive (with the
exception of obvious spam), and I can not find it anywhere.

A combination of these two things may influence people's desire and
ability to vote.
