By co-incidence, our programming manager called me over to see something he
is investigating as an option for migration. <www.jboss.org> is an open
source application server. It run's in JAVA, buffered from the true
operating system by the JAVA run-time. There are open-source applications
that run within JBOSS including ERP.  Downloads of all this are free;
they're business model is based on support subscription fees (and they have
2,000,000 downloads a year). Isn't this an overlooked possible business
model for openMPE?

Subject: RE: Monopoly Addition (was Morphe Project)

How does portability affect a monopoly operating system? An emulated
operating system is more portable, because the simulator layer can be
tweaked to let that operating system and its programs run on any other OS.
That's bad for monopolies, and maybe, good for MPE? (Is MPE simulation a
threat to M$ WIN the same way Java is?)
