Jerry,

        Good point.  It was implied because the origin of the thread came from HP's
presentation at HP World about how they would "Investigate role of 3rd party
partners might play in providing support."  There would be no investigation
from HP on 3rd party partners providing support for their own products.

        Still, I see you point and it is very valid.  So, let me explicitly clarify
that HP was talking about the investigation of 3rd party partners in
possibly providing software and/or hardware support for software and/or
hardware that to-date was supported by HP.

Hi Jon,

Unless I inadvertently missed it, your original note doesn't seem
to be limited to just MPE operating system type of support, but
instead implies support of anything, which would be a vendor's
own products.  THis is probably why Jim Kramer sent the note,
and on that same basis, I would send a note as well....
