I want to thank everyone who voted for me, though I am reminded of the
saying that when the gods want to punish us they give us what we wish for.

I will work to make OpenMPE more open and responsive to its membership. I
will work to really partner with HP to ensure a life for MPE post 2006.

The Board of OpenMPE had its first meeting Wednesday with the new Board
members, three returning and three new. The meeting was mostly procedural.

It turns out the previous Board, despite my pleading, agreed to an NDA and
in fact some members have already signed it. I have not seen the NDA yet,
but am operating currently on a blanket verbal NDA covering anything I learn
until such time as I either sign the existing NDA or the Board takes action
to revise the current NDA. My position on NDAs is well known. If I think we
are giving too much away, I will work to modify the NDA consistent with the
notion that true partners need to be able to negotiate away from the
spotlight but should not need to protect each other from having sides
actions or inactions ultimately made public.
