Good morning,

Customer Advocacy to HP is alive and well.

As the Interex volunteer to the World Wide Advocacy Steering Committee
(ITUG, Encompass US, Interex EMEA, HP Users AP, OpenView Forum) I've
spent the last 3 years keeping MPE in front of the other user groups.
Since the end of Interex, I've been asked to be the Advocacy volunteer
for Encompass US. After a lot of talk and thinking, is it worth it? I
decided to accept their offer. This was because we, the HP customer,
seem to get lost in the "noise".

In that regard, I still am an MPE user (3 machines for the past 21
years) and continue to follow the 3000L and OpenMPE lists.

Yesterday, after I saw Paul Edwards email on certifications, I realized
that HP had "dropped" the ball on another issue. I have discussed this
with the other Advocacy volunteers and we have already "escalated" this
"issue" to HP. It should show up as an issue on the HP Online User
Advocacy web site sometime today.

I hope to continue bringing MPE issues to HP for many years and also
hope that you will all check out the www.hpuseradvocacy.org website and
post other issues, take surveys and generally keep MPE on HP's radar for
the foreseeable future. Of course, if you have issues for other HP
platforms, OS's, etc. this is also the place to get them answered. The
HP-UX SysAdmin group and HP-UX development teams have been using the
site for the past couple of years with great success getting "answers"
and results to their SIB ballots and general UX surveys. We strive to
get answers from HP within 30 days after receiving enough "votes" (6 is
the magic number). Feel free to contact me with questions on the
Advocacy site or Advocacy to HP in general.

Thank you and have a great day.

Steve
