John-

I find it interesting that the 12/18/03 minutes state that:

"Due to the urgency of the situation and the need to communicate with our
membership with all convenient haste, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting
be the following day at the usual time."

and the 12/18/03 minutes show that the were approved on 12/19/03. BUT,
there are no minutes of the 12/19/03 meeting posted, and is not mentioned in
the 01/08/04 minutes either.

Hmmmmm.....

All members of OpenMPE should read the minutes of the latest Board meeting
at http://www.openmpe.org/minutes/Minutes20040108.html

Pay particular note to item 3. The Board voted to censure fellow Board
member Ken Sletten for the posting:
http://raven.utc.edu/cgi-bin/WA.EXE?A2=ind0312&L=openmpe&F=&S=&P=2455 (due
to some email problems Ken was having, Tracy Pierce posted it for him to the
OpenMPE list - I believe it was also posted to HP3000-L).

This is outrageous. OpenMPE has mostly operated in secret, apparently under
the belief that it will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
However, the record speaks for itself. HP continues to drag its feet, giving
excuse after excuse for not taking action.

And, speaking of not taking action, please also read the minutes from the
12/18 Board meeting: http://www.openmpe.org/minutes/Minutes20031218.html

There seems to be a considerable disconnect between the minutes of 12/18 and
the minutes of 1/08. I think the Board of OpenMPE has some serious
explaining to do.
