Jamie,

Is the plan to use the extra 937 for parts when needed or as a completely
loaded and ready to go 'Disaster Recovery" box?

If as a DR box then I would go ahead and talk to Cognos, DISC, Bradmark,
VESoft, and ROC Software to let them know what you are doing but if the box
is strictly a "back up" and isn't really going to be used at all then I
wouldn't bother licensing any of this software on it. In the event of a
disaster, you should be able to quickly call each of them and get temporary
keys to activate their respective software. A 937 will have 64 user license
and Image. You may have to purchase the COBOL compiler unless you simply
want to run COBOL programs on the "back up" system and not worry about
making coding changes on it.

Thanx,
        Jon

Subject: [OPENMPE] "Hot" backup system

Hi - I currently have and HP3000 937LX. At this time we are planning on
homesteading. I am considering trying to purchase another 937LX to serve
strictly as a backup system - "just in case". What type of licensing issues
am I facing here? I currently have a 64 user license, Image, Cobol, Cognos,
Disc, DB General, VESoft and Formation (ROC Software). Is anyone doing this
now?

Thanks much.
