Hi all,

After a most clarifying explanation on SMTP by Bruce Toback, thank you, thank you, thank you, on the hp3000 list,
(http://raven.utc.edu/cgi-bin/WA.EXE?A2=ind0201e&L=hp3000-l&F=&S=&P=3340) i have been playing with the mail for a while.

I have 3 HP9000's running HPux 11.0 of which two do not relay anything.
One does, but it is luckily not connected to the outside world.

The thing that puzzles me is that the sendmail.cw file on all three machines is filled correctly with nothing but the own
host/domain name combinations.
Except for the hostnames they are all equal but one machine seems to ignore the file completely. Can anyone give me
a clue as to where else to look for configuration differences? The properly reacting machines both have been reinstalled
by me at least once. The other one is out-of-the-HP-box. What have I accidentally done better than HP ;-) ?

Thanks in advance,

Jurjen Heeck
