The SF Chronicle has an interesting article on the computer effort
used to assemble the 400,000 fragments of the human genome in the
correct sequence.

Oddly, though the article is focused on the project at UC Santa Cruz,
they do not provide the URL for downloading the file, which I happened
to see on the local news last night. :)
