We have a 56K point-to-point data circuit connecting our 3000 with a
remote location 30 miles away. Our service provider (Cable & Wireless)
is getting out of the data business and is cancelling our circuit. So,
we have to switch service providers, but no one seems to do 56K any
more. We may end up getting a T1 circuit instead. Currently the 56K
line links to a CSU unit --> a remote bridge (#28674B) --> DTC. How
would I need to change this to accomodate a T1 line? Replace the CSU
with something else? Plug the T1 line directly into the remote bridge
(there is no RJ45 plug in back)? Anyone have any experience in this
area? Thanks in advance.

To which I respond:

DO NOT under ANY circumstances plug the T1 connector (even if it is an
RJ45) into any equipment (bridge or otherwise) other than a DSU or
integrated CSU/DSU or equipment that functions as such, like a Cisco
1720 or 1750 router. The Cisco 1720's and 1750's have integrated
CSU/DSUs and you can plug the T1 connection directly into the correct
port at the back of the unit. There are 1720's and 1750's available on
Ebay for around $300. You'll need to program the router or have someone
program it for you - it's fairly simple and I can send you a sample
config from a running 1720 if you like.
