Very interesting indeed, but a little old. The number of "Shall Issue"
states had now reached 36 and there are several other states that have
discretionary permit issuance. I believe there are only 6 or 7 states
with no permits at all.
As I watched the video of the lawyer trying to hide behind a tree while
being shot at virtual point blank range, I could not help but think this
video was the perfect advertisement for Shall Issue. It clearly
demonstrated that the police are indeed not acting as bodyguards or to
stop a crime in progress. This was near a courthouse with dozens of
police officers around. The assailant, had he been able to walk faster
or run, would have probably gotten away.
