I have written a program to do precisely this, and if locks are found
there is an option to "warn" the lock holder to please complete their
transaction. We use item-level locks on our primary database that holds
a lock while the user modifies the record.
I have contributed it several times to the CSL library at Interex, and a
number of HPWorld share tapes. If you can't find it through those
channels, let me know and I'll send it to you. The program name is
SHOWBASE and doesn't require that you be logged into the same group as
the database. If you have SM capability you can show locks on any
database on the system. It needs PM.
