Brian,

Your list only includes technologies. Have you considered "soft" skills such as project management? Something that is not linked to the "technology-of-the-day". I don't mean to say there are more jobs in these fields but they may not become obsolete as fast as technology.

Been down the "rock star" many years hence. Even if you are the  most 
talented, the
chances of making a living out of it, such as getting signed up by a record  
company
are slim to none....
 
Guys like John Bonham, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and so on  were 
three individuals who got very lucky indeed.
 
On a more serious note, I would like to ask all of you who read this  
posting, what is the
viability of this list of classes I am about to embark on starting up in  
January --
 
Oracle
VB Net
C++
Assembly Language
 
Are they really worth my while or am I just kidding myself on ?
