Well, I don't think HP will destroy its PC division; they are looking at
selling it or spinning it off. So, why should they stop any new development
there?

Maybe Microsoft or Dell will buy the PC division, wouldn't that be a hoot?
In the meantime, I think HP may be trying to get out of the consumer
products arena and may just be trying to focus solely on businesses. Of
course, the current regime in Washington is trying very hard to destroy
businesses so that may throw a monkey wrench in HP's plans.

We live in interesting times.

HP will be making hardware right up to the end. The PC customers may get as
little notice as 3000 owners did.

From today's Wall Street Journal:

"HP unveiled a new desktop computer Monday, just days after the technology
company disclosed plans to sell or spin off its personal-computer business.

HP said the latest all-in-one Elite business model can deliver up to 15%
faster hard-drive access, 40% better performance and less downtime as a
result of remote information-technology management capacity. The computer,
which is energy-efficient, also is equipped for remote face-to-face
communications and online conference center capabilities."
