Well, we do get a lot of people coming for the exhibits only. However,
consider this: If you have flown to Chicago for the conference, and if you
are already staying in a hotel for the duration of the conference, the cost
of the registration, whilst by no means incidental, is an increment to the
whole thing. Further, if your company does not pay for it, you can deduct
the cost of the conference and the attendant expenses for tax purposes.
But most importantly, where else can you see and hear so much information
dealing with HP computing. If you are on this list, you have something to
do with the HP 3000, and this event is the place to find out about HP 3000,
MPE and its interoperability with other platforms.

Now Paul brings up a good point, how to find the reserved tables. I will
ask Wirt Atmar to design and print a poster for us. Or maybe instructions
will be issued a few weeks before the event. It worked fine last year, and
we can do it again this year. BTW we already have 21 people signed up.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

Subject: Lunch at HPWORLD

Having never been to one of these events - could someone clear up a couple
of
issues for me.
I would hope to be there (at least to exhibits, cost of seminars seems
prohibitive to me).

But what I was wondering about is finding this lunch. Is there some group
luncheon being
held on Wednesday, that would be obvious to find? Is someone going to be
wearing a
"red carnation" so that I might know what table is reserved for the group?

And as far as the Week Standard - Even though I am Christian, I don't think
of
Sunday as the
first day of the week. If someone was to call me next week, I would think
Monday, not Sunday.

And to further complicate the language syntax and I don't know if this is a
Minnesota trait or not, but
today being Thursday (June 19), if someone said they were going somewhere
"Next
Weekend", I would
assume they meant June 28-29, because if they meant June 21-22, they would
have
said they
were going somewhere "This weekend".
