This is more historical and not an answer...
The first time I put a signature on a laser was on a HP2680 in 1985. I
blew up a photocopy and traced it on an HP plotter connected via HPIB on an
old HP2647G (they were old then) graphics terminal. (In those days HP
plotters connected via HPIB could work BOTH directions.) I filled in the
rough spots with white space and then uploaded the file using the graphics
package the HP3000 had back then. I called up the graphic into a TDP file
and printed out the signature on a periodic newsletter.
Those days were glorious!
Today, I'd just scan it into Fantasia or Formation and overlay it with the
Quiz data.
