If your going to be using the box for development, and you produce some
form of a saleable MPE product (an AMISYS addon for example), you
may qualify for HP's Solution Provider Program.  You can get substantial
discounts on HP HW/SW that will probably beat the price you'd pay for
a used system.  Plus there are other benefits as well.  Check out

I work with a company that does Amisys and HP 3000 consulting.  We plan
on  using the box in house for testing and development.  We have a 947
w/ 64 user licenses that we would like to trade in if we could get a
good deal from hp on a new box- but so far we have had no luck. So we
are looking just to purchase a used one- preferabley from a client and
not a used broker (a' la Hardwarehouse-)  So if you have a 959 or 969
available please give me a call.
