Jeff,

I would certainly agree with John's observation regarding the line wrap. We
have many systems with 30 to 60 drives and it would make an already lengthy
list harder to read.

I like Joshua's idea of reducing the Status field to an abbreviation (Why is
the word 'abbreviation' so long?) to free up some columns.

I would also very much like to endorse the idea of a device info (DINFO) call
to return information. I think in general that when one parses output from a
command they have to expect that it is potentially subject to change. We have
a number of scripts which parse DTSAT but I am more than glad to change them in
order that DSTAT always provide valuable data. Truncating characters minimizes
the value of the data.

Best,
Carl

Jeff,

I would opt for #4. Its nice to see the full model number, maybe in a
format=detail. But I sure don't want to have the volume set name wrap on
the screen. When you have more than one drive listed it sure makes a
mess.
