I was the owner of both a '98 and a '00 Camero Z28, and can say
whole-heartedly that it was a rocket on wheels, more fun than should be
legal, and totally unserviceable by the dealer. Any service or repair took 4
trips to the dealer regardless of the complexity. Tire rotation - 4 trips;
oil change - 4 trips; engine light (faulty O2 sensor) - 4 trips. It turns
out that there were 4 O2 sensors, but only the chief mechanic knew there was
more than one.

I sold them both, and bought Nissan. 285,000 miles and replaced the starter,
shocks, and the battery. Change the oil and it runs like a champ. It won't
go from 100mph to 150mph in a snap like the Camero, but my income has gone
up dramatically since I am not spending all my time at the dealer.

Miss the thrill, don't miss the expense.

Paul

Wait, I see how this works. Since you didn't buy your Camaro new, and either
directly from Chevrolet or through their dealer network, you aren't actually
a customer of Chevrolet.

And since the group that made the Camaro only gets money from the sale of
new Camaros, while all the money made by servicing them goes elsewhere, the
group can't meet its numbers.

Obviously, the Camaro ecosystem has eroded.

I wonder if all the current Camaro owners got a colorful brochure from
Chevrolet offering them a migration path to the Corvette.
