That caught my eye too.  Perhaps Ms. Fiorina was misquoted.

I don't know about a statement of "corporate values," but for as long as I
can remember HP has had a statement of "corporate objectives."  The
corporate objectives of the "New HP" can be found at
http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/abouthp/corpobj.html.  Under "Employee Commitment"
it lists, "to provide people with employment opportunities based on
performance."  When Bill and Dave were in charge, that section specifically
mentioned job security, in keeping with their belief that HP should not be
run as a "hire-and-fire operation."  The reference to job security was
dropped within the last five years.
