     Greetings from Heidelberg.

We are running Netware/iX on an MPE 5.0 system (recently upgraded from
     4.0)

Though we have an "X:" drive defined in Netware that is accessible
from the HFS (/usr/netware/sys/xdrive), we have been told by one HP
person that we shouldn't use shell commands to copy files between the
HFS and the Netware volume -- even though simple tests seem to suggest
that it works fine. The reason given was that the linkage was too
     "fragile". Can this be right?

One attraction of Netware/iX for us when we purchased it was the
possibility of just such transparent access from HFS when we upgraded
     to 5.0.

Does anyone have any further information on this topic? Anyone
     actually doing this?

     Thanks.
