Be careful using the mv command, it can set ACDs that may prevent others from accessing the files.
This from experience.

They are essentially the same.  A shortcut is to (within the shell)
simply "mv newfile oldfile" and respond "Y" when prompted to remove the
existing oldfile (or use mv -f newfile oldfile).
